From funny to sweet, silly to sincere, the words in these poems explore such universal topics as feelings, new siblings, everyday life, imagination, and more. Mister Rogers instilled in his young viewers the values of kindness, self-awareness, and self-esteem. But most of all, he taught children that they are loved, just as they are.
In our book club discussions, we will be focusing on what it means to be kind and generous to others, ways to love yourself just as you are, and to always use our imaginations. We will discuss kind and mindful words, ways to let loved ones know you care, ways to participate in our communities, and constructive methods for identifying and expressing feelings.
