Do you regret not talking to the hot person on the train reading a book you like? Did your last Hinge date reveal that they haven't read a book since high school? Has a trusted friend recently made some decidedly sub-par reading suggestions? If you replied yes to any of the above, you are warmly invited to join us for a new McNally Jackson book club! In lieu of a traditional sit-down discussion we'll mix and mingle at our Seaport beer and wine bar and discuss a new book that we're particularly excited about, or an older title we think is worth revisiting.

In March we're reading Alphabetical Diaries, the latest title from award-winning and beloved author Sheila Heti, author of McNally Jackson favorites How Should a Person Be, Motherhood, and Pure Colour.

Alphabetical Diaries is a compilation of Sheila Heti's thoughts, kept over a ten-year period and arranged by sentence from A to Z. Dwight Garner called the final result "a profound experience" comparable to reading Anaïs Nin’s journals, or Iris Murdoch's letters. Marlowe Granados, author of Happy Hour, described it as "a testament to Heti’s artistic power", in which she "gently leads the reader into new dimensions of language previously undiscovered." More exciting still, Sheila Heti herself has provided us with some discussion questions to help you go deep with a literary cutie over a glass of wine!

Books can be shipped out or picked up at any McNally Jackson location. Just choose your preference at check out.
