Do you regret not talking to the hot person on the train reading a book you like? Did your last Hinge date reveal that they haven't read a book since high school? Has a trusted friend recently made some decidedly sub-par reading suggestions? If you replied yes to any of the above, you are warmly invited to join us for a new McNally Jackson book club! In lieu of a traditional sit-down discussion we'll mix and mingle at our Seaport beer and wine bar and discuss a new book that we're particularly excited about, or an older title we think is worth revisiting.
This January we're reading Artless, the new collection from the eternally cool Natasha Stagg. Read more about it and RSVP below!
A document of New York from an author too close to the story to be a trustworthy eyewitness.
Composed of stories, fragmentary essays, and even press releases Stagg has been commissioned to write, Artless captures the media landscape lived and generated in New York during the past half decade. Since the 2016 publication of her debut novel Surveys, Stagg has positioned herself as an in-demand expert on—and critic of—the psychic experience of self-mythology within the cruelly optimistic metaverse of infinite branding. Part voyeur and part participant, Stagg continues her exploration of the branded identity and its elusive, bottomless desire for authenticity.
Books can be shipped out or picked up at any McNally Jackson location. Just choose your preference at check out.
In order to keep our events program running in uncertain times, we're asking attendees to hold their place with a $5 voucher, redeemable on the night of the event on any product in store or in our bar & café. If you have a change of heart or plans, write to email@example.com and we'll gladly refund you and release your spot, up to 24 hours before the event. Thanks for understanding, and for supporting your local bookstore.
