For Women's History Month, we're introducing kids to the art of Georgia O'Keefe. O'Keefe's's incredible body of work, suffused with curiosity and wonder, reveals a profound connection to the natural world. She looked directly into everything she saw and made it her own--whether painting a flower from the inside out, so we could "truly see it," or juxtaposing a fantastical ladder leading beyond the mountains into the twilight sky of the Southwest, in "Ladder to the Moon," for example. Inspired by the art of Georgia O'Keefe, kids can peer deeply into various objects to share their unique perspective, combining the small and large, reality and fantasy, to create experimental art wholly their own. Plus, we've got some fantastic new books to celebrate Women's History Month. Hosted by Yvonne Brooks. No rsvp required. We look forward to seeing you!
