Ricardo Cortés & A Mystery in Elizabeth Street Garden

Book Launch & Father's Day Art with Ricardo Cortés

Join McNally Jackson at Elizabeth Street Garden where adults & kids can meet the incredible author and artist Ricardo Cortés. We're celebrating the launch of Party: A Mystery (Black Sheep/Akashic Books), Jamaica Kincaid's mysterious new book for kids, brought to life by Ricardo's beautiful, evocative illustrations. The dynamic Ricardo Cortés is author of the stunning Sea Creatures From the Sky; A Secret History of Coffee, Coca & Cola; It's Just a Plant; and more; he also illustrated The New York Times bestseller for adults, Just Go the [you-know-what] to Sleep! Ricardo will read to us in the garden gazebo, then help us solve, or not solve, the book's central mystery. Inspired by Party: A Mystery, Ricardo will also help kids create their own surprising "mystery" art they can dedicate to fathers, grandfathers, uncles, or anyone special for Father's Day. Elizabeth Street Garden is located 2 blocks from McNally Jackson in Soho/Nolita, on Elizabeth Street, between Prince and Spring. If you're leaving from our bookstore at 52 Prince Street, turn right and walk east 2 blocks to Elizabeth Street; then turn right onto Elizabeth, walk a few doors from the corner, and the Garden will be on your right. Hosted by Yvonne Brooks. All ages welcome. Free.
