For Women's History Month, we're featuring Frida Kahlo. Kahlo's mysterious, allusive paintings often spark deep emotions and intense curiosity. This Saturday, kids can respond to Kahlo's work by creating their own art: they might design layered self-portraits with fascinating animals similar to Kahlo's beloved monkeys, parrots, fawn, and xoloitxcuintli dogs; create collages informed by their dreams; or make Frida-inspired costume accessories. We'll start by reading kids' stories about Frida Kahlo and learning more about the current Kahlo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum. Hosted by Yvonne Brooks. All ages welcome. Free.
