Forest with Castanets: Diane Mehta with Edwin Frank (WILLIAMSBURG)

In her debut book of poems, knit together with personal essays, Mehta explores her own cultural history— Indian Jainism and American Judaism—as well as her ideas about faith, feminism, and family. 

Diane Mehta’s debut poetry collection, Forest with Castanets, comes out in March 2019 with Four Way Books. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, and raised in Bombay and New Jersey, Diane Mehta has been an editor at PEN America’s GlossolaliaGuernica, and A Public Space. Her book about writing poetry was published by Barnes & Noble books in 2005. She lives in Brooklyn.

Edwin Frank is the founder and editor of the New York Review Books Classics series and the author of Snake Train: Poems 1984-2013
