This Saturday, we continue highlighting Women's History Month by celebrating the extraordinary work of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Frida's work was influenced by her Mexican heritage, the Surrealists, her love of animals, her political convictions, and her relationships with family, including her husband, the famous Mexican painter Diego Rivera. She vividly depicted her personal challenges in her art, translating private feelings into brilliant paintings shared with the world. Our featured books are The Story of Frida Kahlo: A Biography Book for New Readers by Susan B. Katz and Frida Kahlo and Arte Popular by Frida Kahlo and Layla Bermeo. Inspired by the work of Frida Kahlo, kids will have fun creating their own unique collage art. Hosted by Yvonne Brooks. All ages welcome. Free.
