“Father” has always kept Carolyn and her adopted siblings too busy to do anything other than learn from his ancient texts in The Library. But now, their abilities to communicate with animals, raise people from the dead, and speak every language in the universe (including the poetry of storms) could help them find their missing god-like Father and find out whether or not he is dead. The only problem? The secrets to finding him are in Library’s stacks, which now try to kill them every time they get close.

For being this author's first novel, The Library at Mount Char was surprisingly complex, and kept throwing me confusing, but exciting curveballs. Every time I thought I knew where the plot was going, something would happen that made me say, “Wait?! What the f*** does that mean?” One of the most unique books I’ve read in a really long time.

“Mindblowing, outrageous, and visionary, this is without question the best fantasy I have read in many moons! Hawkins has penned a tale that both opens the reader up to new perceptions of the universe, its creation, and ascendency, and gives the adage 'absolute power corrupts absolutely' an entirely singular meaning. He has imagined characters who are simultaneously loveable and despicable and presents them in a way that is both terrifying and darkly funny. Whether or not fantasy is your genre of choice, The Library at Mount Char will amaze you!”
