Mitzi Henry is a wife, educator and special needs advocate. She is also the mama of three pretty awesome kids. "Belle" is based on her 7 year old twins, Neva and Jack. Jack was born with Fragile X Syndrome. Fragile X is a genetic condition that causes significant cognitive delays as well as behavioral and learning challenges. From the start, Neva and her older brother, Nolan, have had an amazing way of explaining the world to Jack. And, in turn explaining Jack to the world and all the amazing things he has to offer.
