About the Author
Early one summer, M.C. Tillson and her 4-year old son made their first visit to Copper Harbor on Upper Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula. Ms. Tillson promptly fell in love with the area, and, after a second visit, knew she would write a book about that magic place. The result was her first children’s book, The Clue at Copper Harbor. When it turned out that there was more magic than would fit into one middle-grade chapter book, Ms. Tillson wrote two more books to finish the Michigan Lighthouse Adventure trilogy.
Since then M.C. Tillson has created another lighthouse adventure trilogy, this time set on the coast of her native North Carolina. She's also published three puzzle books based on her mysteries and is currently finishing a third trilogy about lighthouses on the Northern California coast.
M.C. Tillson's latest book has nothing at all to do with lighthouses (!) and everything to do with…hair? Ms. McNair’s Fantastic Hair is a rhyming picture book for kids of all ages that’s also a bit of a mystery, which is, of course, M.C. Tillson’s favorite kind of book.
M.C. Tillson likes traveling to fun places, working in her garden, playing cards, and reading. Her favorite color is green and her favorite food is anything Italian. One of M.C. Tillson’s most favorite things is talking with kids—especially about their favorite books.
