Kody Keplinger grew up in a small Kentucky town. During her senior year of high school she wrote her debut novel, The DUFF, which is a New York Times bestseller, a USA Today bestseller, a YALSA Top Ten Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers and a Romantic Times Top Pick. It has since been adapted into a major motion picture. Kody is also the author of Lying Out Loud, a companion to The DUFF; Shut Out; and A Midsummer's Nightmare, as well as the middle-grade novel, The Swift Boys & Me. Sarah McCarry was born in Seattle and lives in Brooklyn. She is the recipient of a MacDowell Colony fellowship and has written for Glamour, The Stranger newspaper, the Rumpus, and Tor.com. She is the editor and publisher of Guillotine, a nonfiction chapbook series focused on revolutionary nonfiction.

Wendy Xu is a Brooklyn-based illustrator and comics artist, known for her Tumblr blog, Angry Girl Comics. She is cocreator of and currently draws the webcomic Mooncakes (mooncakescomic.tumblr.com). Her work has been featured in Shattered: The Asian American Comics Anthology and as part of the New York Historical Society’s Chinese in America exhibit.
