Join New York Times reporter Catherine Saint Louis in conversation with Julie Scelfo, author of The Women Who Made New York about the untold stories of women who helped make New York City into a world-capital. Julie Scelfo is a frequent contributor to The New York Times, where her stories about how we live routinely appear on the Times’ most emailed list. Prior to joining the Times in 2007, Scelfo was a correspondent at Newsweek, where she covered breaking news and wrote about society and human behavior. She covered the events of September 11, 2001, live from lower Manhattan, and then reported extensively on the attack’s environmental and emotional aftermath. She will be joined by Catherine Saint Louis, a reporter for The New York Times, covering health and medicine. She used to edit the Lives memoir for the New York Times Magazine. She has lived in Brooklyn for almost 20 years. She's a frequent moderator for New America Foundation events, and is now at work at a project about family estrangement.
