Award-winning author Simon Van Booy is coming to McNally Jackson, and he's introducing his amazing fantasy chapter book, Gertie Milk and the Keeper of Lost Things. Simon's bestselling books include seven works of fiction and three anthologies of philosophy that have been translated into over a dozen languages. He has written for the New York Times, the Financial Times, NPR, and the BBC. He enjoys building robots, model airplanes, and off-road vehicles—which he likes to crash. We've also heard rumors that Simon owns an impressive umbrella collection. In 2013, he founded Writers for Children, a project which helps young people build confidence in their literary abilities through annual awards. Raised in rural Wales and England, Simon currently lives between Brooklyn and Miami with his wife, daughter, Robot Rabbit Boy, and a fully-grown sheep. Hosted by Yvonne Brooks. Event is best for ages 6 to 12. Free.
